R4 ALLIANCE MARCHES FORWARD FOR VETERAN ADVOCACY WITH THE PATRIOTS PARADE INITIATIVE

Organizations unite nationally to support the living by honoring the fallen.

Members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces face a unique set of challenges when separating from service and transitioning into civilian life. In the best of times, acclimating to a new civilian environment after years of immersion in a structured military profession poses difficulties. These challenges are compounded with the difficulties of overcoming the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury.

However, these are most certainly not the best of times. The challenges are so critical that First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden came together to launch Joining Forces, and tasked the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to spearhead this national campaign.

Former Chairman of the JCS, Admiral Mike Mullen, has issued the Call to Arms: work hand in hand with the public and private sector to ensure service members, veterans, and their families have the tools they need to succeed throughout their lives.

R4 Alliance, a national network of 38 veteran service organizations, has answered the Admiral’s call.
“R4 Alliance is focused on bringing the ‘best of the best’ in community and therapeutic recreational services together,” says Executive Director Chuck Steele, “in a collaborative effort to provide excellence in research, education, and continuum of care for Our Military Family.”

The strategy is working. To date, R4’s “Programs of Excellence” have directly benefitted more than 140,000 service members and their families. In spite of the daunting challenges, R4 Alliance has been successful in its mission where others before them have failed. As with all successful military campaigns, the secret of their success can be found in numbers, expertise and the ‘will to win.’

“The strength of R4 Alliance lies in the power of many,” says Bert Gillette, R4 Alliances’ Director of Programs and Outreach. “We’re able to do what others have only talked about by establishing a truly collaborative treatment network. Our collective experience and combined knowledge grows with every Program of Excellence we bring on board.”

This November, all patriotic Americans have an opportunity to honor Our Military Family by joining R4 Alliance in the Patriots Parade, an online initiative to show support for our Brothers and Sisters in uniform who have sacrificed their lives in support of our beloved freedom.

The “Call to Arms” has been issued. This November, join us in this honorable mission and answer that call with courage and the “Will to Win.” Visit www.patriotsparade.org today and march forward with R4 Alliance in support of Our Military Family.
